With the invention of recording technology music all around has experienced a remarkable change to reach wider range of people a better way.In oral tradition the form of music including the tune, the presentation all used to get changed through man to man and time to time. Tansen was a great singer indeed but none knows how was his voice or how he used to sing. Recorded music is the best platform to preserve music as it is .
k
To continue the record business smoothly as well as profitable  way the companies had a great demand for new songs, new tune, new singer etc. As a result creative people of music field started enriching bengali music so widely. Month wise song catalogue, year wise compiled song books etc. were published by different sources to fulfill wider audience demand. These  printed matters are great source of our musical journey which tells us the different aspects of our the then society. But these documents has not been preserved properly and most documents has become endangered. A few documents are there in collectors custody but their pride resist them to share even for research work.
k
My father Mr. Deba Prasad Das's mission is to collect those endangered documents, preserve, compile and research on them and make these available in both analogue & digital way to the generation to come.
