Daba Prasad met Manna Dey for the first time on 17th February 1982 at Alipurduar
Next he met him on 12th December 1989 with an approach to write his autobiography
on his behalf. He agreed the project. Deba Prasad started his first interview with Manna
Dey at his residance at 9, Madan Ghosh Lane,Kolkata on 8th June 1991. Interviews
went on and got recorded in audio cassettes. He then transliterated the audio matters
and got the written chapters approved by Manna Dey himself time to time. Many names
were suggested for the book and Manna Dey approved "Aami Niralay Bosey"..Well
known lyricist Pulak Banerjee penned fore wording for the book and ultimately  the
book "Aami Niralay Bosey" got published as well as released in Kolkata book fair 1997
by the publisher A.Mukherji & Co.Pvt.Ltd.,Kolkata. The book was accompanied with a
pair of HMV cassettes containing Manna Dey's Bengali songs specially packed for this
book only. Manna Dey's adherents were overwhelmed and rest is just history
